Some Good Resources for 2019 Race Selection(s) !!

Now is the time to starting considering races for 2019. The following resources give you a wide variety of references for every sport and distance! Start checking out events you want to aim for next year !

http://www.texasrunnertriathlete.com   Monthly and annual calendar list all disciplines in and close to Texas. An excellent resource if you want to stay in or near Texas, particularly if you want to save money and travel time.

http://www.challenge-family.com   A great “race-cation” listing of differing triathlon distance races around the world. Locales are different than those normally offered and sometimes options for choices of race distances give you more choices.

http://www.longcourseweekend.com   Lists “Iron Distance” races around the world, but with a twist – the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and marathon are done over a 3-day weekend! One sport is done each day, Friday thru Sunday. How cool is that !

http://www.trifind.com   A comprehensive list of races around the country you can access by sport and/or month. Easily consolidates your interests.

http://www.ironman.com  Lists 70.3 and Ironman races in the USA and worldwide. Popularity and time of year greatly impact to how fast registration closes.

http://www.triathlon.org   The International Triathlon Union (ITU) is the governing body for triathlons world-wide — except in the USA. Races listed are of championship-level: interesting information and lists info on World Championships if you qualify at a USAT National Championship; check it out.

http:/www.usatriathlon.org   Provides info on events in the USA sanctioned by USAT, particularly National Championships that can qualify you for Team USA at an ITU World Championship – set your goals.

With my new blog, you can ask me specific questions OR play “stump the dummy”…. Ready ?

This is a new concept for me so I’ll be learning as we go along – right now, my “learning curve” is pretty vertical…..

As most of you know (or maybe don’t), I’ve got over 20 years of coaching experience that includes working more than 80 clients — from an initial 5k  race to earning a podium position at an Ironman.

I want to share what I’ve learned about the science AND art of multi-sport coaching and training soooooooo…. I’m asking for questions that can help you train and race smarter. The blog is “interactive” in that it’s basically a Q&A site — you ask a general or specific question and I’ll give you the best answer I can, either right away or after I do some research…

For now, let me know what you’d like me to talk about, topics that interest you, or questions you haven’t been about to get a straight answer on.
